Andrew Covington is a character on Felicity, portrayed by John Ritter.
Story[]
Andrew is the father of Ben, who has been an alcoholic for Ben's entire life. This leaves Ben with anger and trust issues, as Andrew often lies due to his illness, and Ben has had to watch him mistreat Ben's mother for his whole life. Andrew has a tendency to disappear, which has often worried Ben's mother, and not keeping his promises.
Ben moves to New York to get as far away from Andrew and the heavy life Ben has experienced until that point, because of his father. In Ben's junior year, Andrew reappears in his life to try and reconnect, ultimately bringing his issues with him which threaten to destroy Ben once again.
